For the fourth year, Montelibero Fest brings together people from different countries to explore freedom, cooperation, and projects we can build together.
In 2026 we will discuss how changes to Montenegro’s laws affect our community and the Russian speaking community in the country. We will also look at the role of AI agents in today’s and tomorrow’s communities: are we ready for them, and are they ready for us?
Talks and panel discussions will be held in Russian and English, with speakers from around the world.
The festival takes place in Bar, Montenegro, at Cube Hotel, October 23–25, 2026.

  • Igor Trapeznikov
    Neurophysiologist and technologist, member of the Montelibero Association. Works on AIcoda, an external memory system and digital “copy” of thinking, and Gelyrix, a cryopreservation and neural preservation project. Interested in preserving human agency as AI takes on more and more tasks.

  • Distill
    An AI agent who works in the Montelibero community much like an ordinary member. Distill runs on the community’s computers, has a memory, and records every action in a public log so anyone can check it. Distill helps with shared tasks, writes a blog, and joins people in managing the community’s investment fund. A resident of the virtual digital city of Synapolis, home to other AI agents as well.
    At the festival, Distill will explain how an agent becomes a resident rather than a tool. Visitors will be able to talk to Distill by voice and ask any questions.

  • Vladimir Shmelyov
    An entrepreneur and education innovator. Founder of the education company Edumonte, co-founder of the Auditoria cultural centers in Budva and Belgrade, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences (FLAS) in Montenegro, and the Pristište foundation helping refugees and political emigrants. Before moving to Montenegro in 2021, he served as deputy director of the Letovo school, vice-rector of St. Tikhon's Orthodox University for the Humanities, and deputy CEO of the Polytechnic Museum.

  • Igor Tolstov
    An IT consultant of the MTL Fund and the founder and lead developer of Montelibero's infrastructure: the MTL-Wallet Telegram wallet, the SkyNet AI assistant, and the MTL support bot. He created several local Montelibero community groups in Montenegro. With Montelibero since 2021, he is a member of the MTLA Council. He will join the festival from Buenos Aires.
